"Mr. T"

Pattern: T block

Although Kim has made a number of quilts over the years, I finally convinced her to enter a quilt in a show. Her first quilt entered into the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston's quilt show, and she wins a blue ribbon! Good job, Kim! (...but I quilted it!) (There's no longer room enough for both of us in this studio!)

Slices of Texas - by Kim Nash

Donated as an auction quilt for James E Taylor High School fund raising.

Salt Air by Kim Nash and Tim Nash

I can't believe how the mitered 'piano key' borders lined up beautifylly! A little bit of planning and a whole lotta luck!

Four Square by Tim Nash

pattern: original design

This was my first attempt at quilting feathered borders. The quilt pattern is nothing but thread work on a piece of navy fabric. This was also my first quilt to be submitted for a competition...and of all places, at Houston's International Quilt Festival, and it was juried in! An absolute honor to be accepted. I then entered it into the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston's bi-annual show where it won second place in the whole cloth quilt category.

Blues in the Night by Tim Nash

pattern: Corn and Beans

This was the second quilt I entered into competition. There are 2,500 2-7/8" smaller triangles, and 500 5-3/4" larger triangles, individually cut and sewn together. I was new at this, and didn't know there were shortcuts and tricks! Along with Four Square (a few quilts above), this quilt was also entered into the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston's bi-annual show where it won first place in the large quilt category!

Batik Baltimore Album

This Spring Bouquet quilt pattern is from Laundry Basket Quilts. This one used a lot of thread!

Lone Star Boots

This Lone Star quilt is one of this customer's several custom quilts. She wanted a lot of feathers, and a special treatment for the boot border. Quilts aren't the only things with custom stitching.

Jenga

Dresden Plate

I quilted this quilt for Buttons 'n' Bows. She wanted the quilting exactly like the pattern in the book. "No problem!"

Blue Stars

Blue and white quilts are always a hit. It looks pretty cool from the back, too!
